Name: Amaya "May" Naru
Gender: Female
Age: 14
Occupation: Trainer
Physical Description:
Amaya is light-skinned, 5' 7", and has long medium purple hair which she never ties up. It's always flowing down her back, ending at her thighs. She never wears makeup. Amaya considers it impractical. Her eyes, like her hair, are a light lavender. They always sparkle when she's thinking. She's tall and thin, but not gangly. Very proportionate. Amaya can most often be spotted wearing turtle necks, cardigans, jeans, sneakers, the works. Even in the warmer seasons, such as summer, she tends to dress for colder weather.
Personality: Amaya is a very quiet and studious girl. She's silent most of the time, spending her days reading, writing, sketching, and recently she's become interested in astronomy. Her shyness doesn't prevent her from enjoying life, as you can see. Amaya is very hardworking, polite, helpful, a model citizen. Sadly, she has had very few friends throughout her life, most of them moving away or abandoning their friendships. Lately, Amaya has become fascinated with Pokemon. Maybe they'll help her come out of her shell.
Pokemon: None at the moment, she plans to pay a visit to Professor Willow soon.
Other Information: Amaya always wears a bracelet that her father gave her with a single charm dangling from her wrist: The Poke Ball.
History: Amaya Naru was born in the Sinnoh Region, in a place called Jubilife City. From a very young age, she detested her busy city lifestyle. Amaya often spent her childhood outdoors, watching people go about their days. Another of her favorite pastimes was watching her father, Katsu Naru, excercise his Pokemon near the woods that lead to Sandgem Town. Amaya would follow him to the edge of the woods, figuring he didn't notice her. Katsu would always turn around and say, "Kinshou May, you follow me again today. Would you like to watch Ursaring and Torterra play?" Amaya would always smile and say yes. However, her mother Mizuki was not the adventurous type, and usually Amaya followed her example. But when it came to spending time with her father, Amaya became very brave.
Tragedy struck when Amaya was only seven years old. It was a gray and stormy morning, and her father said he was "embarking on a journey" and wouldn't be back for a long time. When Mizuki pressed him for answers, Katsu simply shook his head. He left the house at noon. Little did Mizuki and Amaya know that was the last time they would ever see him. New reports came in that evening about a train that had crashed of an "unknown cause" on the outskirts of Pastoria City. There were no survivors. A list of all the passengers flashed onto the television screen. Then the news reporter's voice: "...Naru, Katsu, of Jubilife City..."
Six months later, Mizuki decided to move to the Konari region with Amaya, for a new start. They moved into a small house in Small Branch Village. Amaya attended school, and Mizuki got a job at a PokeMart in Velia City. Their lives continued without consequence for the next seven years, until there came reports that not all the passengers of the train wreck that occured in the Sinnoh region may have been killed. But still missing. Shortly after, Amaya announced to her mother that she wanted to start her own Pokemon journey. She expected her mother not to allow it, but instead Mizuki replied, "I know you will succeed. It's in your blood. Before you were born, your father was the Gym Leader of Eterna City."
Now Amaya is about to set off on a journey not only to achieve her Pokemon dreams, but to solve the mystery surrounding her father's death. And she may uncover some surprising secrets along the way...
